Netronix develops e-book on Android
Taiwanese manufacturer of networking equipment Netronix and American company Texas Instruments (TI) are developing joint work-outs of electronic readers on Android. The following year Netronix will supply more than 1 million of these devices, Arthur Lu the chairman of the company predicts.
Readers on platform Android will be able to co-operate with the Android-smartphones or other devices that are run by this operating system.
In addition, Netronix plans to integrate modules 3,5 G or 3G into their devices for reading electronic books, thus, they will turn into a means of communication. Production of these models begins in mid-2010, says Lu.
Currently Netronix delivers electronic readers in the number 30000-60000 and expects that the total number of shipments in the 4th quarter of this year will reach 140 thousand.
